Hi,

Not too sure if I am posting in the right area.

I am wondering if it's really difficult to make a wordpress page into a functioning webpage (on a domain name) for someone with no computer programming background and I've only used "Instant Page" by go daddy.

Thanks for all your inputs!

Should not be hard.
Especially if you have already working page on WP. If not, most templates do show how to set up new template. Basic knowledge needed. Yet you do need some program (notepad may just be enough maybe, I never used those as this) to change ccs-styles if needed.

And for making it webpage, you just have to "change the hosting domain" so to say, yet it is not free 9 dollars a year (I maybe mistaking).

ps. dessign.net has simple clean templets. And also short videos about setting up their themes.

Hope it helps :)

I am not a computer programmer but have been using computers since 1981. I can build a computer, install a motherboard, slave a drive to clean it. I know my way around and can follow directions. Since I did not get my domain name and hosting site from same company, I then had to do something else so my domain name would register with the hosting site. If you get both from same company, it should be easier to get started.

I wanted to go cheaper for my startup. I did not want to spend money on several years upfront. You can do that or renew in a few months. Once you are up and going, look into downloading Filezilla. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=opUZ7...ure=plpp_video

Start with these sites first.

Check out his other videos also. I felt he was very informative and easy to follow.

Let me know if I can be of any help.

I went to school for graphic design so I'm pretty savvy in computers and programs, but it does always help to have some background knowledge before you start especially when it comes to a website. Make sure you do some research first, read and watch some tutorials, etc so you can get the basic low down on how to get started. Not having any knowledge at all can be very frustrating so don't just jump into it. Definitely research first. There are tutorials all over the web both in written form and video form so you should be okay.

Unforunately, the few web classes I did take didn't teach me much (had horrible professors) and I've never used WordPress before but definitely utilize the web as much as you can before you get started ... Good luck!
