I have seen it done on the craft forum that I visit. Basically someone bought vinyl pumps, then bought vinyl from joanns and somehow sewed the vinyl to the pump to turn it in to a boot. They even put in a zipper. When I get home I will try and find the link for you....I'm at school now.

I have this sneaky feeling that if I designed my own shoes, I'd have 15 bunions.

I often wanted to research shoes like the ones made by Hilary Swank in that movie where she loses her hubby (P.S. I love you).... Does anyone know if there are links to any crafters that do work like that?

Making shoes is not only difficult, but expensive. Proper finishing machines are expensive... as well as all of the supplies.
I know how to make a shoe... pattern it out... last it, all that crap. It was required when I studied accessories design at fit.. I like making handbags waaay more. But it's cool to see a shoe you've made. Making flats is a lot easier than making a pump, that's all I can say. |

Those boots are amazing! I don't think I could ever manage to make a pair of my own shoes. I tired making clothes before and that didn't work out so well.
Can't wait to see if anyone else has made their own shoes! |
