ps-Humane Society isn't entirely no-kill, either, so beware.

I still can't believe that this is happening. I've emailed every outlet that I can, but still I'm really afraid that these poor pets will not get the chance that they deserve. I'm heartbroken for them. I just hope that everything will turn out ok.

I've emailed ABC News at wnn@abcnews.com

Left a message for CNN, on this page:

http://www.cnn.com/feedback/forms/form11b.html?1

...and left a news tip for Fox News, in the box, on this page:

http://www.foxnews.com/

This is a copy of the message I sent them. If you don't have time to write your own, please feel free to personalise this one:

(Title) 39 Young, Healthy, Good-natured Pets Are To Be Killed Tomorrow in Paw Paw, WV

Dear Sir or Madam,

This is a genuine life or death situation!

39 young, healthy, good-natured dogs (and puppies) and cats (mainly kittens) are facing death in (would you believe it?!) Paw Paw, WV!

Some tomorrow (23rd June) and some the next day; if they are not offered a new home, today!!!

They are to be killed, to make room for the unfortunate animals of a mentally ill hoarder, as these animals are evidence in her court case.

Many of the condemned animals were nursed back to health, after being rescued from similar people.

It is hard to decide who is more mentally ill; the hoarder, or the makers of a law, which puts the crime above its victims.

Here is a thread on a forum, with more details:

http://forum.purseblog.com/general-d...you-26149.html

Also, here is a link to a website, listing the condemned animals (the ones marked URGENT, will be the first ones to die, tomorrow):

http://search.petfinder.com/shelterS...ort=&preview=1

We feel that this should be the subject of a national media campaign in the US. So, please can you do whatever you can to help, ASAP?

The lives of innocent animals depend on you!!!

Thank you so much for reading this and for any help you can give.

Kind Regards,

(Insert Name Here).

I wrote to Hampshirecountyac@yahoo.com about what we're doing, here. This is what I said:

(Subject) Condemned Animals

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to you concerning the fate of the animals in your shelter.

I am a member of a forum, with many thousands of members, which has a lot of animal lovers on its boards and we are doing all we can to find your animals homes (some of our members have expressed an interest and some of these may have contacted you, already).

Although it is not an animal forum, the owners of the forum have, very kindly, posted the pics of the three most urgent dogs on the home page, as well as a link to the thread about all the animals:

http://www.purseblog.com/

We are also spreading the word about their plight, to other forums and to the US media (national and local) and contacting animal charities, to see whether they can help. Additionally, we are trying to arrange a fund, to pay for their transportation to other parts of the US.

Here is the link, to the relevant thread, on our forum:

http://forum.purseblog.com/general-discussion/pets-desperate-need-homes-6-24-can-you-26149.html

We have been and will continue to work very hard to try to save these animals. In light of this, please can you tell me if it is at all possible to, at least, delay the date that these animals will be put-down?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards,

x.

Here's an idea
If anyone across the country wants to adopt, maybe we can do some fund raising to cover the shipping fees. I myself cannot adopt one but sure don't mind contributing some money so these pets can be adopt.

Again, if I can help with anything else just let me know.

I think that's a great idea, txngo!

Does anyone know how we could arrange it, safely?

Some inspiring words:

'The time will come when men such as I look upon the murder of animals as they now look upon the murder of men'

- The great artist, scientist and genius Leonardo Da Vinci.

Let's prove that we are, at last, beginning to become more civilised; as the great man predicted, way back in the 15th Century!

Unhappy Re: Pets in desperate need of homes by 6/24 - can you...??
Unfortunately, on my travels I have found some more animals, from another shelter which are due to be killed this morning:

http://search.petfinder.com/shelterS...ort=&preview=1

If this centre is nearer to you, perhaps you could consider rehoming one, or two, of these, instead.

You will have to be very quick off the mark and call first thing this morning, or it will be too late.

If you can't take on these animals, permanently, please could you consider fostering, temporarily - to give them more time?

To do this, you will have to be in the local area.

Most other states also have fostering programs, please visit www.petfinder.com to find a local shelter, to offer your services to.

Thank you!

I don't know, everevereve.

The US is the richest country in the world; so why enough animal shelters aren't provided, I don't know.

Thank you to everyone who's helping/helped!!!

Please can everyone keep emailing the organisations mentioned in this thread (or let us know if you think of any others).

Also, if you know anybody who might be able to adopt, or foster, a cat or dog, please can you ask them, ASAP!

Thanks again!

Chloehandbags, you've been busy, haven't you? Thank God (or rather Robbie Fowler) for that! Hope you managed to get some rest?

Several months ago, I joined this particular MB to post about Wings star Tim Daly (swoon) and have just posted about Paw Paw here.

Hopefully, someone will be able to tell us just who in the media to contact.

Hi Passerby!

Thank God, (or rather.....Peter Crouch?! ) you're back!

I was running out of things to say (very unlike me! ).

I only got 5 hours sleep. I can never sleep for long when I'm worried.
