Bravo to Queensland! Thanks for sharing! ALL dogs should have fenced in yards for safety & more outdoor time!

The US always seems to be behind the times a bit IMHO, especially when it comes to things like this. Hopefully, soon the US (or atleast on a state by state basis) will realize that these dogs are wonderful & their OWNERS can be dangerous!

I do have reservations when I pass a pit, rottie, dobbie, ect on the street. That dog may be the sweetest thing in the world or may not and it's true that it's the owners fault 100% and bad breeding plays into it alot too. I grew up with dogs that were trained to attack on comand (police service dogs) and they lived in our house as family pets. We never had a problem with them because of the extensive training that was done with them and the great care my dad took to make sure they never got out of line. But alot of the owners of these breeds have no clue how to train these dogs and socialize them right. You will find that small breeds are responsible for just as many bites, if not more than large breeds. We just don't hear about them because they don't do as much damage. My grandma had a chi when I was little and that thing was the meanest crankiest thing you would ever meet.

How true that is. As for Chis, they're nasty little pieces of work, I got chased down the street by one years ago when I was walking home from school, and it just so happened that the hot guy was across the road

We have a female pit bull mix and she is the most gentle, loving dog ever. We also have a chi and an 9-week-old American Bulldog.

Nellie (pit mix); Pepe (chi); and Bella (American Bulldog):

When we went to adopt the pit mix as a puppy at the Humane Society, my husband was a little leary of the breed since we have children. The lady who worked there had three pit bulls and boy did she give him a lecture! She explained about how the breed has been given such a bad name. They're GREAT family dogs and so loyal and loving. I would never hesitate to get another one although at 3, I think we've reached our limit!!!

Does amstaff count? If so, you can count me and my dog Tank in.

Tank's quite the "pretty boy" lol. I absolutely love pit bulls and will always own one. My husband and I are getting an English bull terrier in February. We're super excited about that.

I have one! He's in my signature below.

Turbo's a 2 year old brindle. Apparently the color is rare, I've yet to see another one in person. We picked him out of the local shelter at 11 months and continue to be surprised at what a freaking awesome dog he is. Sooo smart and eager to please. It'd be hard to own any other breed after him.

Tank is quite the pretty boy! omg he's beautiful! and Turbo is soo adorable with that shirt on lil_peanut!!!

The only thing I would change about our Oliver is that he sheds terribly.. I can't even let him love me when I leave for work in the mornings b/c his hair, on my (usually black) pants is LOL

OMG Dallas, that pic is priceless!! It's funny how much they love their humans, that when they see them coming they become oblivious to anything else, including a dogs head! lol

We had a wonderful pitbull/lab cross when I was little. He was a stumpy little man and totally brown (nose, eyes, coat, everything). We adopted him when he was around eight and he spent eight more wonderful years with us and I miss him dearly - he was a great dog. He died almost nine years ago and I still think about him a lot.

Although I despise so many of the horrible things that are said about these dogs, some stereotypes are true. They really are so fiercely loyal and protective - although he was a pampered house pet, my mom says she always felt very safe when my dad was away on business because he was very protective of us.
